“I’ve been taking exercise classes for some 40 years, and Elizabeth is the best teacher ever - so knowledgeable, thorough and thoughtful.”

Elizabeth Jensen

Studio Owner & Pilates Trainer

Elizabeth Jensen has been exploring ways to move bodies thru space her entire life. From the early age of 3 thru her high school years, Elizabeth danced ballet at Stapleton School of the Performing Arts, in San Anselmo, CA. She continued dancing at Wellesley College where she also earned her Bachelor of Arts in Architecture in 2001.

The art of architecture and that of dance choreography are remarkably similar in their shared interest to direct how bodies move thru space both physically and emotionally. Recognizing this parallel, it was not a great leap for Elizabeth to return to school to study Human Anatomy & Kinesiology at SFSU and eventually complete the Premedical Postbaccalaureate Program at Columbia University in 2006 with an interest in Physical Therapy.

Exploring a career in Physical Therapy, Elizabeth quickly discovered Pilates, a method of movement that felt instantly familiar to her ballet trained body.

Elizabeth earned her Comprehensive Pilates Trainer certification in 2009 with Master Instructor, Jean Sullivan, at A Body of Work in San Francisco. In 2010, she continued to expand her training, completing the Functional Anatomy for Movement & Injuries (FAMI) workshop hosted by Kinected in New York City at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital.

Elizabeth has also attended continuing education workshops thru Balanced Body’s Pilates On Tour and completed The Pilates Hands-On Workshop with Jennifer Kries.

Elizabeth earned her Pre and Postnatal Pilates Specialist Certification from Carolyn Anthony’s The Center for Women’s Fitness and continues to broaden her training today with leading professionals within the field of Pilates and movement.
